Literary Roundtable to Premiere....

A new literary round-table show is going to debut March 3, according to the New York Times, but don’t look for it on the networks or even on cable. "Titlepage," as the show will be called, is going to be online. Daniel Menaker, who has been a senior-level editor with Random House and Harper Collins as well as a novelist, will host the show.

Why the Internet?

According to the NY Times article, Titlepage's creators Odile Isralson and Lina Matta targeted the web because it is much easier to post video online than to get a show on television. Menaker sees it as an opportunity to bring readers and writers closer.

Who will be featured on the show?

Richard Price, Susan Choi and Charles Bock are slated for the first episode. Price's book Clockers was made into a Spike Lee movie in 1995 with Harvey Keitel and John Turturro and will be released in March. Choi and Bock both have books out in January. The second episode will feature first-time authors Sloane Crosley, Julie Klam, Ceridwen Dovey and Keith Gessen. It is scheduled for posting two weeks after the initial episode.

How can you watch?

Simply go to www.titlepage.tv on March 3. Currently on the site is an option to sign up for email updates and news and a reminder to bookmark the page.

Thank you to Verne in NYC for sending me the Times article.
